How It All Started
Back in 2002, Allen Nelson was working in the computer industry by day and wrenching on his 1994 Sierra V6 at night. When he swapped in a true LS1 from a 1999 Corvette, he ran into a problem â nobody offered tuning support for truck conversions.
Despite living in Texas, where trucks dominate the roads, Allen was told there was no market for tuning trucks. He refused to accept that answer.
With a background in computers and electronics, Allen invested $16,000 into tuning equipment, taught himself the craft, and began meeting enthusiasts at local gas stations to flash and tune their trucks.
Within six months that investment had paid for itself, and Nelson Performance was born.
What started as a passion project in a carport grew into a respected name in GM performance. Today Nelson Performance continues to serve enthusiasts across the country with the same drive, curiosity, and commitment to doing things right that started it all.
