All vehicles are flashed with GM’s latest calibration and then tuned specifically for your modifications and driving style. We optimize your programming for your aftermarket modifications and driving style.
For all local tuning we offer optimization of all timing tables and fuel parameters using HPTuners.
For remote custom tunes, we can provide tuning using regular mail or email. Email tuning requires you purchase or have an HPTuners RTD or equivalent. Mailorder tuning requires the customer to send in their pcm or ecm and tcm.
Here is what you can expect from our tune:
- Increased rear wheel horsepower and torque gains of about
- 30-35 with about 91/93 octane
- 23-28 with 89 octane
- 15-20 with 87 octane
- Average increase of 1-3 miles per gallon depending on the individuals driving style.
- An increase in overall drivability of the vehicle
- Adjustment of the shift points to improve the shifting pattern
- Allow for firmer, more noticeable shifts as you apply more throttle
- Increase in low end performance
- Decrease or full removal of torque management
- Torque management is GM’s way of reducing power to the drivetrain under aggressive acceleration. The computer will pull timing and limit throttle in order to cut power. By removing a percentage or all of torque management you will get better throttle response and improved shifting patterns.
All computers are locked upon completion of the tune to prevent third parties from corrupting or writing over the file. All computers can be unlocked at any time at customers request. Nelson Performance will not be responsible for tuning errors or damage to vehicle after computer is unlocked.

NEW LIVE TUNES
Live Tunes include free wideband monitoring if the vehicle is equipped with an O2 sensor bung. The technician will test drive and fine tune the vehicle after the tune is complete. The technician will not diagnose any problems with the vehicle that are not directly related to the tune unless an appointment was made for diagnostic issues, which will incur an additional charge of $120 per hour.

Retune
Due to changes in the economy Nelson Performance is no longer offering free retunes. Retune fees will vary depending on the changes done to the vehicle after the final tune is complete.
Fine Tuning
Fine tuning consists of the technician driving the vehicle, wideband sensor monitoring, computer scanning and fine-tuning changes based on feedback from the computer scanning session. Modified and Heavily Modified vehicles usually fall into this category when making major changes as well as vehicles that need computer scanning to diagnose DTC’s. Fine tuning sessions are charged at rates listed below.
